Glad you asked! You'll only find fully SFW content as we're a community-oriented space focused on fostering a community that believes in friendship, mutual support and positivity in regards to our identity, hanging out, playing games, talking about TV shows, anime, furry/feral stuff, therianthropy, sharing cute animal pictures and, of course, discussing the latest articles of our magazine at zooeydotpub.org.
What is Matrix?
Matrix is a technology that allows people to create decentralized communities. It's similar to Mastodon but for chatting instead of social media. It's a little complicated, but the basic idea is that it's a technology we used to create our space as well as an ecosystem of interconnected chat communities.
Why Matrix over (*insert other app name*)?
The cool thing about Matrix is that we can use this technology to create a space that we fully own and from which we can't be deplatformed. If you're coming from our previous Discord server, you know that while our server followed their rules to the letter, it still got banned shortly after their IPO announcement. With Matrix, we fully run the server, and so there's no fear of being displaced again. Also, it gives us a lot of power to make custom changes to more fundamental aspects of the space, so that we can do lots of really awesome things in the future. Read more about it here! How do I use this chat?
Matrix has a number of independent apps that you can use to connect to our server. However, to make things easy we have created this fully guided sign-up page to have you setup with the Fluffychat app. It's the one that is most Discord-like, so it should feel fairly familiar. Once you sign up through our page, you'll be automatically joined into our space. From there, just say hello! The back end might be complicated, but we've done our best to make the user process as simple and streamlined as possible (thanks tech team!)
